Cotton Bureau
T-Shirt
OBJECTIVES
To design a t-shirt for Cotton Bureau.
MATERIALS
1 Pentel XFL2L scientific brush pen
A3 Copic marker paper
2 Posca PCF-350 brush pens
1 jumbo 4.5kg Toblerone
2 Alka-Seltzers
OUTCOME
Oscar Reutersvärd designed the impossible triangle in 1934 with the intention that it be screen printed onto a high quality ringspun cotton t-shirt 83 years later. Probably. As Oscar’s great-great half step-nephew twice removed*, I didn’t want to let him down, so when Cotton Bureau asked me to design a t-shirt for them I adorned it with the trickiest triangle I could muster.
To promote the t-shirt on social media, I illustrated a troupe of unwilling creatures to model the design and pose like Penrose.
*100% true. Maybe.
When Cotton Bureau asked me to design a t-shirt for them, I adorned it with the trickiest triangle I could muster.
